We are excited to welcome 'Made by Lesley Taylor' to The Clarendon as the new hotel restaurant for 2014.

Lesley Taylor's name has been synonymous with Newcastle dining for years. Lesley began her apprenticeship at age 16 working under Robert Molines at The Cellar Restaurant, she stayed with Robert for 13 years before taking over the kitchen at Cafe Albion where she earned her first chef's hat in the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide. Lesley has gone on to own and operate the acclaimed Restaurant Deux, Le Petit Deux, Osteria, Longworth House, Made by Lesley Taylor & Lesley Taylor Catering. 

She is award winning, having won 4 individual chef's hats and being only one of three females in NSW with a 'hat'. She presides over her open kitchens with calm competence and is passionate about local produce. Her chefs tend two community garden plots with the fruits of their labour appearing on the restaurant's plates with fresh, refined sophistication.

'Made' features intimate indoor and alfresco dining as well as an extensive menu that caters to all tastes. It truly is the perfect venue for all occasions. Whether it be a romantic dinner for two before catching a show at the Civic Theatre, a large group birthday dinner or just a good value casual meal - 'Made by Lesley Taylor' caters for everyone. Opening at 7am for hot breakfasts and your morning coffee fix, serving right through to quick office lunches, afternoon snacks and a range of dinner dining options. Our beautiful Art Deco bar provides a great meeting place for after work drinks or the start to a special night out. Enjoy the atmosphere inside or step out into the spacious beer garden, enjoy the fresh air and catch up with good friends. Talented bar tenders will keep your taste buds tantalised with new cocktail creations as well as large selection of boutique beers, fine Australian wines and premium spirits. Look out for our constantly changing celebrity beer taps – pouring the finest in limited edition and boutique beers.

The Clarendon Hotel bar is fast becoming reknowned as one having one of the best ranges of Australian craft beer in Newcastle and NSW. We were even finalists in the AHA NSW Awards for Excellence 2011 in the Best Boutique Beer Offering category.

Live entertainment is provided in the beer garden on Friday & Saturday nights.
